Mr. Surjit Lal
(Managing Director)

Shri Surjit Lal ji’s illustrious career in various government departments from 1972 to 2011 is a narrative of dedication and exemplary service. His tenure has been marked by significant contributions in diverse roles within the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Ministry of Food & Civil Supplies. His expertise also extends to Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and Aboard assignments, where he served with distinction for 19 years from 1985 to 2004.
Upon retiring as the Additional Secretary from the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, Shri Lal ji continued to impact the public sector through his role as the Additional Director General of the Commonwealth Organizing Committee for Procurement from 2008 to 2011. His leadership and strategic insights also benefited the National Federation of Farmers’ Procurement, Processing and Retailing Cooperatives of India Ltd, (NACOF) during his tenure as the Additional Managing Director.
As the Managing Director of the NFCD, Shri Surjit Lal ji brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the cooperative sector, driving the organization towards achieving its vision and goals.

Shri Atul Varma ji, our Executive Director, is a distinguished professional with an impressive 23-year track record in the successful execution of turnkey projects from their nascent stages to their fruition. His domain expertise spans Renewable Energy, Waste to Energy, Waste Management, Skilling, and Information Technology, reflecting a career dedicated to sustainable development and innovation. A Six Sigma Black Belt, Shri Varma ji is renowned for his exceptional ability to enhance process efficiencies and cultivate sustainable business models within leading organizations such as the Bharti Group, Microsoft, WNS, and notable entities like the Delhi and Bangalore International Airports. His commitment extends beyond corporate realms, as he has been a steadfast supporter of various multistate cooperatives over the years, contributing significantly to their growth and governance.
